Four options:
1. Get a passive cooler such as a zalman - this will only work adequately if
the CPU or other cooler fan causes adequate air flow over the passive
cooler.
2. Get a new 4cm fan - many of these can be dead quiet at 7volts.
Thermalright makes one that is more than adequate at 12V, is cheap,
reliable, and very quiet.
3. Get a new cooler such as a swiftech mcx159-CU. These are a bit noisy and
overkill at 12 volts (live in the tropics?), but if run at a lower voltage
or managed via say speedfan are dead quiet...
4. I forget what #4 was :)
4. Oh, yes try RMA and get Asus to supply you with a replacement.

I know that this fan on the motherboard chipset is known to cause problems.
How do I remove this noisy fan? And what kind of fan should I replace it
with ?
thanks all
