Hello everyone,
It seems that the 945 family of intel chipsets is the baseline for the
Dual Core cpus, which apparently requires DDR2 ram. However, I have
GIGS of DDR ram available, and at the same time wish to go Dual-Core.
Do I have a way out?
Dear Arifi,
AMD 64 CPU with NF4 chipset? Stable, well supported, inexpensive, 100%
compatible....I too like Intel CPUs and chipsets, but, right now the AMD
line runs cooler, faster, better, cheaper.
The Pentium 805D is a LOT cheaper than the AMD chips, and can be overclocked
to a stupid degree. I`ve had mine running at 3.5 gig per core easily
enough, from the stock of 2.66. Some people can get 4 gig per core out of
them, but you need very good cooling. But there`s nothing from AMD at the
moment to touch this level of price:performance.
