I have a P4PE which has been running fine for several years now. Last night
I opened the case and saw that the aluminum passive heatsink on what I
believe is the Intel 845PE Memory Controller Hub (MCH), located just below
the CPU, was dangling loose.
I saw that it has two wire clips on top and bottom. The bottom ones were
hooked to two loops(rings) built onto the board. However I could nee no such
loops for the top wire clamp. Does any one know where the top wire clamp is
supposed to catch in order to keep the heatsink pressed on to the chip?
Thank you very much.

I've yet to see an MCH heatsink that didn't clip onto *two* soldered-down
loops...
