look at the bios setting
My asus board will let me start up by touching a key but only if I had
windows on standby instead of power off or shutdown

I had Abit NF7 before I switched over to Asus A8V with 3700+. Now I
can only switch on the PC by pressing the Power on switch at the
front. I have the power on wake-up feature enabled but this obviously
does not control the start up sequence.
Previously I could turn on the power at the mains and then press any
key to start up the PC. Can I somehow get this feature back? I am
using the Cool&Quite feature BTW.
