MANY of us have set up A8Nx systems with WD Raptors. There is NO
incompatibility. Your problem suggests a problem with the drive, even
if it does work well in the other computer. However, have you tried
switching SATA cables, SATA connectors, and even power leads?
Ron
Yep, tried loads of different connectors... using legacy molex type
power couplers instead of sata... using different power connectors
from the power supply, and umpteen different sata cables... I
installed the drivers doing F6 and installing, I've installed without
doing F6 to install drivers...
I'll say it does appear to be working at the moment. I can't say what
I did to make it work -- it's that frustrating thing of doing the same
thing over and over and over for 8 hours, then finally it works.
The only way I could get it to work was with the raptor on the Silicon
Image raid port (in sata2 mode, not raid). One I got Win installed
and everything going, I plugged in the other drive on the nVidia sata
port.
All seems well at the moment... We'll see what happens when I install
SP2 (dreading what will happen....).
Thanks folks...
