If you are running XP, do a repair install - see
www.michaelstevenstech.com for details on how to do it.
People that do not run repair installs when wapping mobo's run into "a lot
of trouble".
There are a minor set of situations where a repair won't work - OEM / Bios
locked versions of XP from big name brands (EG Dell consumer models). The
version of XP in these cases are locked into the specific BIOS and so
motherboard make and model and repairs don't work.
