Do you have the ITE devices listed in Device Manager?
When I set my system up I went and found the latest ITE drivers manually,
so possibly Windows Update won't pick up on them till you have a set of
drivers installed. They *should* have been on your CD though (this is the
IT8211 ATA RAID Controller).
Failing that, grab the drivers from Asus's site:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
...and go from there.
One caveat: my P5LD2 manual specifically states that the ITE-controlled
IDE
ports do not support ATAPI devices (i.e. optical drives). Never connected
one to check, though; I only use the one ATAPI drive and it's running off
the Intel IDE port.
