All,
I have just started getting the above error when I boot up, windows xp
sp2 is installed and was working fine then it crashed in a game and I
had to restart then this message has been coming up ever since.
The weird thing is though, I can get it to boot normally if I press F8
(boot device select) when its booting and select the hard drive i want
to boot off (i have 2 HDs)...In the bios the boot configuration is set
to boot to "Hard Disk" first, it doesnt give the option of specifically
saying which HD, and I tried putting the first 2 boot devices as "Hard
Disk" just in case.
Mine occasionally does the same thing after a crash. In the BIOS there is a setting to select what order the hard drives attempt to boot.
Under the BOOT tab, select Hard Disk Drives, then select the drive you want with the arrow keys and move it to the top with the pageup/pagedown keys.
For some reason, after a crash, sometimes mine gets re-ordered...
