This is what's happenning every time. I'm afraid I'm not quite
understanding how I hotsire teh power connector as you mention but I
have disconnected the poser connector from the mobo and it still is
not going to ready/standby mode. It appears that there are two things
that are not happenning:
1. The board is active as soon as I turn on the main power switch on
the PSU and NOT the power switch on the cabinet.
2. The mobo is not POSTing, I'm not getting anty startup screen
whatsoever.
I'm in the process of returning the mobo to the dealer - let's see what
they find.

Agree that it sounds like a duff motherboard. Please remember to post
your results when the replacement comes.
