Asus p5wd2 hibernation

Hello,
I have an Asus p5wd2 premium motherboard- I had it set to hibernate
which I really like being enrgy conscious. I like the theory however
the reality is never quite as good! I have played with the bios
settings and every time it hibernates by itself it doesn't restore
itself properly. It turns on the front panel led's light the HD light
flashes a bit, but the video card asus ex550 never turns the monitor on
so it is impossible to diagnose why it isn't starting up!

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
