Try putting the two jumpers back on the FP_AUDIO header.
Check the user manual - you can download it from support.asus.com
if the manual is missing - and section 2.7 has an item that
explains where the two jumpers go on FP_AUDIO.

The two jumpers provide continuity for Line_Out left and right
channel. They allow Line_Out to be muted, if you connect an
"Intel Compatible" front panel audio setup, and insert headphones
into the front audio jack. With no front audio wiring, the jumpers
have to go back in place.
