You will be doing pretty well if you find 14" and 4G ram and eSATA for $500, because you will be eliminating a lot of competition at the lower prices with those requirements.

I guess I was wrong about that, because it seems pretty easy to do.

While I was at the Fry's site to give the link to their storefront sale item, I flipped over to the 14" LTs and found $500 refurbed HP with your other specs of 4G ram and eSATA.
