If you're using a SATA disk to IDE motherboard cable adapter,
the adapter may have a jumper on it. The jumper makes the
adapter either master or slave.

There are some of those adapters, which lack a jumper, and
those are always master. And that kind of adapter, has a limit
of one adapter per ribbon cable.

If the product comes with instructions, it'll tell you
what is required.
