I had a problem with a HD, so I fitted a new one with the original as a
slave.
I installed win98 onto the new HD, and can get all of the files from the
original no problem.
What I can't do is get my original address book info transferred across.
I can find the files in
D:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities
but I can't move it across to the C drive.
I have tried to import the old WAB file into the newly installed add
book,
but to no avail.
If I do a search for .wab files, I can find both the new and old, and
the
old is much bigger, so I am sure the info is safe.
Help please
Do you have a WAB here:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Address Book\
...where <username> is your windows login name?
That's the default location for the WAB every time I've looked for it.
You can open it just by double-clicking it, even if it's not the one
associated with your profile.
If that is the one you want, I would recommend moving it into your "My
Documents" folder and editing the registry to indicate that is the
address book for your profile. More on that if you manage to find the
WAB you want.
Neat. The original message appeared sometime back in 2003, but the poster
had set the date of their computer to 2010. For some reason, that post is
now visible in your client :-)

I figured it might have been re-injected or something, but I don't think
so.
It looks like it's a date problem.
Google didn't archive the original post, only the answers. So maybe AndyB
advancing the date by seven years, managed that. He apologizes in the
thread,
for his date mistake.
