OT: Netbooks and dvd playback

Filled up the hard drive with dvds. Loaded the dvd decoder and windows media player tells me it can't play it as I need to change display size and color level. Thanks Microsoft.

It has the Intel Atom 1.6Ghz processor and 2Ghz of RAM.

Does a netbook as a rule have enought horsepower to run a dvd decoder(player)? Was thinking of Roxio's Sonic Player. I have previous version on an XP box, but it doesn't work with 7.

Thanks
.
