:)I now bought all the necessary ingredients, so I'm all set for my
planned upgrade - that is, from what my present signature shows, to
this:

Hardware:
- New mobo, Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7, X58
- New RAM, DDR3 6144MB Mushkin PC3-12800 (3x2048MB) 6-8-6-24 1.65V
REDLINE
- New Processor, i7 930
- New cooler, Megahalems, rev B
- New fan for Megahelems, Ultrakaze 3000 rpm.
- New additional harddisk , 300 GB WD VelociRaptor 10.000 rpm (entirely
dedicated to MS flight simulator FSX)

Software:
- Windows 7, Ultimate 64 bit.

New HD Configuration:
- No RAID - that is, leaving one of the two existing HD from Dell
entirely for the new Windows 7 OS.

All very nice - but in order to do a successful install, all together,
what would be the correct installation order here?? :o

It goes without saying, but whatever you do make sure you back up the
data you want to transfer from the old hard drive before you begin
your upgrade.
