Upon calling tech support, which answered pretty fast, I read off the
serial number, and the tech said I had a 3 year warrenty. I said ,"Yes," I
knew that, but how much would it cost to reflash the chip, if they could do
it. He told me it was covered under warranty, and then gave me an RMA. I
thanked him at least twice, packaged up the board, and had it back in two
weeks, reflashed, and working with the newest bios. I believe it was the
same mb,as it had the same serial number pasted on it.
At this point the way I would do the flash again would be to download
the bios file and after checking the byte size have Gigabyte's flash program
from Windows use that file, without going to the Internet, to install it.
That's just my preference, but since I haven't bought a floppy disk in ten
years I'm a little reluctant to trust them for much.

I think I hate you. My mb is an Abit. This was my first home-built
machine and I went thru a lot of agonizing choosing components. Final
choice was Abit. Who went out of the motherboard business just about a
year later. The BIOS chip was a plug-in though, at least. The mb was a
pricey $180 from NewEgg.
