Very many, many thanks for the fantastically detailed reply you have
given - I'm working my way through all the info contained therein -
the Memtest+ program is particularly useful and I've had a go at
testing that with my existing setup, which understandably shows no
errors. I'll see what I can do with the new memory asap.
