measure the diameter of the fan as well?

Well John, I could measure the distance between screws, I
could also measure the inside dimension of the fan casing,
and I could measure the length of one side. But all these
measurements are useless to me unless I know how fan sizes
are defined - by fixing, by diameter or by side length.
Hence my question.
