On Sun, 24 Aug 2008 05:21:12 -0700 (PDT), yerk5 <yerk55@xxxxxxxxx> put
finger to keyboard and composed:
Everything is brand new:
Intel D 3.4 Ghz cpu
3 GB DDR2 ram
microatx mobo
brand new fresh xp + sp2 install
literally the only thing NOT new here, is the monitor, which is a 15"
lcd
Then I install my XFXForce video card (512MB DDR3, Dual-DVI), install
the latest drivers for it from xfxforce.com and... the largest
resolution I can get is 1024 x 768?? Obviously this isn't right. I can
a way better resolution with the on-board video.
In addition to what others have said about the native resolution
limits of your monitor, you can get the best possible "sub-pixel"
resolution (in Win XP) by enabling ClearType.
