Re: Beware NewEgg Rebate come-ons

This is true. Clever. It also motivates me to write all I can about it
on various forums I patronize. I am a pc enthusiastic (nut). I belong
to LOT of forums. I'll try to get my money's worth of enjoyment best I
can. And educate people along the way.

Way to go John B.! The following prolly shows I too am a pc
enthusianut:
And while you are educating forum-goers, please for their sake and all
who may read, AND A TAD FOR ME, do not buy any product made by VOX--like
their external harddrives from Newegg--or other vendors. I got caught.
Bo't a VOX ext. hd via N'egg w/promise of a $40-rebate from mfg. Heck, they
won't even answer an email, and all was sent as required. Their site--which
has been renewed since my purchase in May--still shows no record, and yet my
signed certified receipt from US Post Office proves SOMEBODY there got it.
(I'm very precise w/rebate-records and had only been screwed maybe twice in
like a hundred or more rebates over a period of several years. Honestly. My
rebate success has been pleasant; tho' some ends I went to were a bit
mentally taxing on my limited brain cells to dream up.)
Of course N'egg states clearly they are not responsible. I still like
doing business w/N'egg--fast shipping, good comm'n, informative
sites--but...but...BUT, if N'egg ended up with a big inventory of such a
mfg's product that is not selling, would they not welcome such a scam by the
mfg? N'egg keeps its nose clean, the inventory gets sold, and the mfg.
catches all the $hit.
I feel like if N'egg was really a good Samaritan, they would bite the
bullet for their many loyal customers and make good on such--I've heard
Frye's does some of that. As a minimum quit selling that mfg's product!
But as of today, they're still selling their crap. Shows a $ gets more
votes than customer-loyalty! Maybe the items still being listed are old
stock! Any takers on whether N'egg would list any new rebate-offers by that
mfg. in order to move old inventory?
Please, guys, do a fast google for "Vox Rebates" and see the scam. Any
lawyers on here wanting to an already well-documented class-action suit?
The co. should have a bundle just from sale of their rebates. (Food for
thought: Do mfg's use "factoring" in rebate-programs they offer thru
vendors?)
Just a heated heads-up from me, for me, for those 'hits' found on
google, and for all the poor souls who kept their mouths shut, laid back,
and just swallowed.
...now... "I FEEL GOOD!" Wouldn't James Brown be proud of me using
these title words from his greatest hit? sam
