What do you mean by "apparently"?
Can you get into the BIOS? Is there a list of temperatures?
Do you see any error messages before Windows loads?
I suppose it's common sense that your computer isn't going to
screech for no reason. I suppose the only critical fault that might
produce such an error would be overheating or maybe the lack of a
critical component like CPU or memory. Have you tried re-seating the
memory?
