We've got an LG cdrom burner that suddenly stopped functioning. The computer isn't able
to find it at boot. The cable and power plugs are good and the computer has no trouble
finding a dvd player in place of the cd burner.

Would there be some simple replacement needed (like a motor, etc.) that I could take out
of a regular cd player and solder in to the burner?
