Hello Bill

Ok, I have to ask, why worry about it? It's not using a whole lot of
electricity. You are aware that all modern PCs never turn completely
off? There is always some voltage to the motherboard of any PC with an
ATX power supply. I'd look it as a way to charge your Ipod while the
pc is turned off.

G 'day again Bill

I would be happier if I had a complete shutdown, or at least as much
as modern computers and other appliance do that is. I have seen a
couple of burned out computers is recent times, one took the house
with it.

Yep, feces will occur.

If that is a feature of the board then so be it, no great
problem, all I have to do if I am going away for any extended time is
either turn off the power at the power supply or the power point.

I pull the plugs out of the all the electronics < PCs, TVs, radios,
routers, etc. > power supplies in case of a lightning strikes when
there are storms or if I'm gone for more than a day. Good precautions.

The
computer was built with a quality power supply so that should make a
lot of difference as far a shorts circuits go.
Well if nothing else, I have trimmed the fat a little in the bios by
disabling the un-necessary settings and transferring those settings to
the manual for when I flash the bios at a later date, I can go back
and re-apply the settings as they are now.

Thanks for your assistance.

Cheers all
Keith

You're welcome,

Bill
