I recently rebuilt my computer and I have noticed that when the
computer has been shut, there is still power to the USB ports.
I have a 4 port USB hub plugged in and it has a blue light built in
and it glows all the time, I have gone over the bios settings and cant
find anything that might be responsible for the active ports.

Does anybody else here have this motherboard or have an idea what I
need to turn of so that the computer will shut down properly.

Cheers
Keith

If it is a powered hub, it is the AC power to the hub that keeps the leds
on.........

G 'day Ed

No, it is not an externally powered hub, it is simply plugged into to
the USB port in the back of the computer.
thanks Ed

Ok.......:-) Scratch that idea then......

Do you have wakeup on(usb) keyboard/mouse enabled?
If so, the supply is taken from the 5Volt standby supply.
On my motherboard(MSI865PE Neo2-P)it is:
USB Device Wakeup From S3 (enabled/disabled)
If enabled, it needs power, even when the computer is off.
On another computer I have seen a strap to choose normal
or standby power.

Hello Sjouke Burry

Thanks for your reply.
I have gone over the settings many times an anything to do with wake
has be disabled like:
ACPI Suspend Type: S3(Suspend-To-Ram)
- USB Resume from S3: Disabled
Power Button Function: 4 Sec Delay
Wake up by Wake# of PCI e: Disabled
Wake up by PME# of PCI: Disabled
Wake up by LAN: Disabled
Wake up by Alarm: Disabled
Power on Function: Button Only
Restore On AC Power Lose: Power Off

The computer is Shutdown, not placed in Standby.

I have asked the Tech's at ABIT if they have any ideas, I hope to hear
back this week.

Cheers
Keith
