I have a new Samsung 245BW monitor and a new EVGA e-GeForce 6200 LE
graphics card. On 2 occasions, windows with white backgrounds had
vertical yellow bars evenly spaced about 1/4 inch apart. I can not
reproduce the problem and it only happens every 3rd day or so. On both
occasions the problem appeared after running for awhile, 30 minutes - 2
two hours.
Most of my googling results seem to say this is a problem with the
graphics card. On the first occasion the problem went away after a
reboot and I reinstalled the video drivers. On the second occasion the
problem went away by power cycling the monitor.
The fact that the problem disappeared by power cycling the monitor
suggests I should return the monitor for a replacement. But I am
wondering whether power cycling the monitor could also somehow reset the
graphics card.
I am using the digital interface and Vista Home Premium.
Any opinions?

Known to happen when the monitor cannot handle the higher refresh rate
(assuming a CRT type). Lower the refresh to 75 Hz or less and the
problem may disappear.
Good luck.
