Is this PSU compatible with my motherboard?

Hello. I'm looking at a Corsair CMPSU-520HX PSU

http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=BA24129

My motherboard has a 20-pin power connector, the PSU has a 24-pin
connector. In the Corsair manual it says:

"The 24-pin main power connector has a detachable 4-pin connector.
This 4-pin connector is not a P4 or ATX 12V connector."

Am I right to assume that I can detach the 4-pin connector, which
will make it a 20-pin that will work with my motherboard?

I have an AOpen AX4SPE motherboard w/ a P4 3.0ghz cpu.
.
