Re: Saving time on clean install of Windows?
The product key will recognize the difference in the version of XP being
installed and refuse to install, or refuse Activation.

I am going to install the OS on a completely new hardware setup this
weekend. I will use an older copy of pre-SP1 Windows XP Prof that I
will remove from my current PC. My roommate has a volume license copy
of Windows XP Prof with SP2 from work. Could I install using his
newer
CD but enter my product key in order to save time with Windows
updates
and the recognition of a drive largre than 137 GB?
