Building my first gaming rig - some advice please?

OK so I *do* plan to build my first pc (a gaming rig) between now and
next month ( based on whether I'll wait for the E6600 price to drop)

I've been doing some research and planning but am stuck with some
components and decisions and am looking for advice/suggestions/
recommendations.

Here's what I plant to buy so far:

- E6600
- Geforce 8800 GTS 640
- Gigabyte motherboard ( 650? 680? P35?)
- 2 x 1 1024 ram (for starters)
- Antec 900 or P180 case (unless there is a more quiter/cooler case
within same price range)

I don't plan to overclock or run an SLI config. My current lcd
monitor's max res is 1440x900, I may upgrade to a 20".

What I would like to get some advice on is the following:

1. MOTHERBOARD: I am not sure which Gigabyte MB to get:

I like the P35's that will support DDR3 and Quad Core so that way in
the future I can upgrade to these components without having to upgrade
my motherboard. They are also not that expensive compared to the
680i's.

Is the P35 a good idea? Also, they have DDR2 1066 support so that
seems cool too.

2. PSU - I have no idea which PSU to get, but I know I want something
that has probably 40+ amps onthe 12v rail to support the 8800 card at
least and in case I ever decide to run SLI. No $500 PSU no thank you!
But a $150 or so that will be great for now and in the future. Any
ideas?

3. Cooling - since i don't plan to overclock or run SLI, do i need any
extra cooling for the CPU? Or will the heatsink and fan that comes
with it be just fine?
