I just picked up a used ATI Rage video card. AGP
It says ATI Rage 128 Pro. Dated 2000.
There are numbers all over this card, but which one is the model#?
The card has standard 15pin monitor cable plug, plus two phono jacks
for TV. One says COMP IN, the other COMP OUT (I know it's a TV card).
There is also a round multipin plug similar to a keyboard/mouse plug
that says SVID/OUT.
OK, now that I know all of this, I am trying to figure out 2 things.
First, what is the actual model# so I can get the drivers.
Second, what do these TV plugs do? I can only assume that one of them
is so I can use my tv as a monitor (I hope so). But does the COMP IN
allow me to watch tv on the computer and save images (I hope so).
Now for the full barrage of numbers....
There is a paper label that is unfortunately not entirely readable.
It has barcodes too.
First number R(unreadable)SD32M
next - (01)00727419632120(21)1113002052
next - P/N 1026321201 046223
The circuit board is stamped P/N 109-63200-01
Also on the board E117942
One of the chips says R128P AGP 63212
Another large chip says ATI Rage Theater 213rt1zua42
And lastly another sticker across the plugs that says
473299 0821-05-MA
That leaves me completely puzzled.....
There are enough numbers on here to confuse a pimple off a monkeys
ass.....
Also, what is the SVID/OUT plug for?
I'm thinking this was a pretty high quality top of the line board back
in 2000, and hopefully will do wonders for my older computer.
Thanks
George
The "P/N 1026321201" is the important bit. You can put the 10 digit
number in here:
http://apps.ati.com/102lookup/index.asp
The returned result is:
Product_Description BIOS_Part_Number 102_Part_Number
RAGE 128 PRO 32MB VGA VIVO NTSC 11363212100 1026321201
The "COMP IN" could stand for Composite Input, a 75 ohm baseband TV signal.
You can get composite, from the RCA output jack on the back of a VCR.
Good luck finding a driver on the ATI site. I think there is a video
driver here, but the capture end of things may be harder to find.

This is an archived page, and it mentions MMC (multimedia center)
software. There is some detail about MMC being licensed software,
suggesting the download of updates was problematic. Personally,
I'd just want enough "driver" to enable some other applications
software to do actual capture or recording.

There are still some links to manuals I can see, but I don't know
if you'll find MMC software for download. The original CDROM might
be the best source.

http://www2.ati.com/manuals/MMC82.pdf
http://www2.ati.com/manuals/mmc8x.pdf
http://www2.ati.com/manuals/MMC90.pdf
They mention "capture driver" here, and I think that is separate
from the whole MMC thing. A capture driver is what would enable
the card to be used with other high level capture software.
