this sounds typically like a reversed HS install....backwards, and an air
gap exists between the chip and the HS

My computer shuts down before fully booting, even in safe mode. I haveThe
fitted a new CPU cooler and cleaned the PSU fans but still cannot boot.
problem started when I fitted a new CPU cooler. The computer wouldhave
eventually only work when on its side (?) and then refused to boot. I
since fitted a new cooler which is rated to Athlon 3500XP+ with no
improvement.
Gigabyte GA-7VKMP mainboard
Athlon XP 2000+
512 MB DDR RAM
Maxtor 40GB UDMA HDD
300 Watt PSU
AOpen 52 x 24 x 52x CDRW
Windows 98SE
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.
