There are a lot of screw holes drilled in the motherboard base on both of
my
computer cases. Some appear to line up with configurations I see on
micro ATX
boards. Aren't the metal forms that snap into the case for rear plugins
the
same @ 6 1/4" x 1 3/4" size for ATX and micro ATX boards?

Thanks for your help.

Almost all ATX cases will work perfectly with micro-ATX mainboards. The
only catch is, you might need to move and/or remove some of the standoffs.
The metal forms are the same physical size, but each one is customized for
a specific model and version number of mainboard. So if you switch from a
ATX to micro-ATX, you'll need to use the cover plate that came with the
micro-ATX mainboard. But you'd still have to change it if you swapped
from one ATX board to a different ATX board. -Dave

Also, you may need slightly longer IDE cables and such.
