Re: 5.1 Audigy 2 system but sound only comes out of one earphone

First, (and I know this seems awful elementary) be double sure of the
connections. Verify that the jack is truely all the way in, and use a second
set of headphones to verify that it's not just a loose wire in the right
side of the ones you are using.

Does the Audigy 2 have "Creative Audigy Console" as it's mixer/settings
software? If so, be sure to dig around in there. The software is designed to
detect when you plug in headphones, and has a separate set of settings for
them. It will automatically change to those settings by default, and if you
haven't played with said settings, they aren't likely to be to your liking.
It could be that in the headphone settings, your balance setting is all the
way to the left. There is a similar balance slider in Media Player, if you
haven't already checked there.

Then, of course, be sure that you have the latest drivers. Check the
manufacturer site, and be sure to enter the right answers for your system,
OS, and exact sound card.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

I have a Creative Audigy 2 installed on my 64 bit Windows x64 machine.
I've set up the sound options for 5.1 sound but when I play music in
Windows Media Player when my earphones plugged the music only comes out of
the left ear. Do you know how I can set up my machine to be in 5.1 and
work for headphones? I've had this problem before and got it fixed but
looks like I've lost the mail that had the fix in it.

Kol
