No need to be sorry as Linux is a viable alternative to Windows.

What so many of the anti-Linux crowds ignore is that Linux was never
forced upon us. Whereas the new machines bought online or over the
shelf came pre-installed with Windows we either built ours from scratch
or converted a machine over. Why would we go through the trouble if we
didn't feel the end result were worthwhile?

I admit to having both and preferring to use my Linux with KDE for a
desktop. I'd like the nay sayers to state which distributions they
installed, name and version. Good chance few will.
