Hey Guys,
I built a computer about 2 years ago. Here are the specs
Windows XP Professional
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
MSI K8T-NEO
Nvidia Geforce 6800 (AGP 8X)
512 MB of Ram of Corsair Value
512 MB of Ram of Kingston
Let me know if anything else is needed
Anyway my problem is this: after about a year of working great, all of
the sudden there was no picture on the monitor when I turned it on.
Fans work and there seems to be power. I contacted a friend that is
good with computers and we diagnosed the problem as being the
Motherboard. We sent the motherboard back to MSI and they sent a
replacement. It worked great for about another year (this past
christmas) and then the same problem occured. This time however we
got a replacement motherboard and replaced the power supply. While we
waited for the motherboard to come and before we replaced the power
supply, my friend had the exact same motherboard on an old computer
that he let me borrow until the new one from MSI came. This
motherboard that he lent me lasted 3 days unitl it supposedly fried
and even though there was power to the fans, again no picture. The
drives can not be opened either until disconnnected from the
motherboard. Now after we replaced the motherboard and power supply,
it worked great for about 3 months unitl this morning when i went to
turn on my computer, nothing came on the monitor even though the fans
were running. Please let me know waht you think is wrong. My friend
thinks I need to BUY a new motherboard and a different brand but I
believe the processor might be to blame. I don't have a lot of money
to spend on this but I will replace the processor and motherboard if
neccessary but I would like to save money where i can. Thanks a lot
and let me know if you need any more details. THANKS!

Do you have on-board graphics and if so, what type of monitor is attached
to it?
Oh sorry, pardon my stupidity. I see you have a slotted graphics card.
