i got spare bays that are really to big for hard drives, i think it
measures to be 5.5", is there some kind of "adapter" that can be reduce the
size so i can put extra hard drives in it?

No, its 5.25". They make kits and have for many, many years for 3.5" wide
devices to fit these open bays. Rarer are those for 2.5". One hard drive
per bay, not plural.
