No power up on new build

Okay, here's the deal:
I'm building a system for my parents using a refurbished motherboard I
received from ABIT as replacement for a new one whose sound went out
on me after four months.
While removing the CPU before returning the old MB, it slipped from my
butter-fingery hands and landed on the hardwood floor. There are no
bent pins and no chipped corners, but I have no way of testing to see
if it survived the free fall.
Now that I have put everything together, (dropped CPU, refurbished MB)
the dang thing won't power up. I get power to the motherboard (the
digital display lights up) but I get no fans whirring and of course,
no POST.
Before I go and buy new parts, I'm wondering what the likeliest
culprit might be, the CPU or the Motherboard.
I'll be resetting the CMOS next, but since the computer is at their
house I wanted to try any other suggestions at the same time while
I'm there.
ABIT AV8 3rd Eye
AMD 3200 64-bit Venice Core
FSP 400W PSU
1 stick of 512 DDR 400 Corsair Value Select
Gigabyte 9200 Video Card
Seagate 300GB SATA hard drive
