Re: Is there a PCI Xpress mobo for Athlon XP?

Why would you want a piece of hardware that doesn't run at its
specifications?

I'll be damned.Looks like only 1 or 2 decent overclckers in the bunch.I'll
have to think about the Abit AV8. Is Abit going out of business?

There are PCI express boards for socket 754, I just got one. Here is a
whole
page of them. I got the MSI mATX with the Nvidia chipset.

Nope. They are only available for P4's and A64's an up.except for a few
AGP-PCI-e combos for the socket754 chipset I've heard about.
Pisses me off,I've got a nice Socket 754 2800+ that clocks over 2.2ghz
and
my upgrade path is zip with this chip. Those hybrids are generally junk
so
I
wouldn't use one.

I have a PC I built with an A7NX8 mobo and an Athlon XP 3000 CPU. It
is not fast enough to run Flight Simulator 9.1 well! I want to
upgrade to a PCI Express mobo, but I would want to keep the same CPU
for now.... Athlon 64 is pretty expensive. So is there such a thing
as a PCI Express mobo that accepts Athlon XP CPU? It would need to
also have a couple of the older PCI slots as well. I would get a new
PCI express video card, but I need to continue using two of my PCI
cards. thanks!
