It's not a problem at all. You can remove and make partitions, reformat, or anything else you like with the XP install CD.
One option is to find a friend with an XP setup & pop your drive in & format it & then throw your B--------y 98 disk away & try again.
A waste of needless hassle.

I think I have the BIOS correct and the hd shows up on the post screen. I did the F6 thing using the floppy that came with the hd and I tried maxblast 4. I even tried a 98 boot disk and I get an NTLDR missing error. Isn't the nt loader on the os install cd and not the boot disk? Any thoughts on why xp can't see the hd are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Do you have the boot order set to SCSI first?
