Grrr.... I looked at the program settings, don't see anything obvious. This would be a good question to take to <http://forum.avast.com/>. The forums are easy to browse or search, free registration is required to post.

I don't see that problem. The forum is good, but I've had no luck at all in getting a response as to why winxp is unable to terminate the avast process and requires me to select the terminate now box. It's a nuisance since it will just hang if no manual intervention.
