Many ISPs are now scanning incoming and outgoing email for infections, out
of self defense. I haven't had an infected email in more than a year,
whereas in the time of 'Swen' a few years ago I received a peak of 2000
infected emails per day to a single email address (same ISP.) Check to make
sure your ISP is doing the same; it is the best of all first line of
defense, and very cost effective for the ISP as it can greatly reduce
bandwidth costs.
My second line of defense is 'Magic Mail Monitor', a pop3 mail inspector
that downloads just email headers, allowing me to delete spam and suspicious
email directly from the pop3 server or to view such in text only mode.
Filters can be set up for 'Magic Mail Monitor', but I really don't find that
necessary. 'Magic Mail Monitor' is free.

| You got that one right!!!! A friend of mine bought a Dell laptop and
| the first thing I said to her was DO NOT USE THAT ***** McAFEE!! Even
| unused, it took her a while to get it off her machine.
|
| I happily use EZ Trust from CA and I understand AVG and Avast are
| supposed to be good, but I have used this one since Ant was a pup (eons,
| in other words, evil grin). It was a freebie back then too (InoculateIT
| PE).
|

|
| Cheers Vi.......Heather (and Norton is not the best at catching all
| viruses, btw).
