Thank you for responding, I haven't heard of that one, not that I have been
looking,I guess that wouldn't cover internet security too?. I don't think
the free ones do. Ummm! what do you think about me putting my Norton onto my
laptop do you think it would work?, after all it is for me, I'm not giving
it to someone else.

| Hi' all,
| I have 3 months of Norton that came with my laptop and it's about to
expire
| and I have recently bought Norton Internet Security and installed it on
my
| desktop for $110. I can't afford to buy it for the laptop too, actually,
I
| thought I could just install that on the laptop but I don't think I can
even
| though I have them connected to the same wireless router. I mean if my
| desktop crashed I would install Norton again so what would be the
| difference? would Norton know if I put it on the laptop?. I don't mean
to be
| a cheat (although it sounds like it) but Norton is so expensive, sooo!!
| failing that and if you think that's a bad idea what would the folks
here
| recommend for my laptop.
|
| Also, I have 2 friends who have new computers with Norton 3 months about
to
| expire and need to know what to get, they don't want to pay for Norton.
I
| thought of Avast, also Microsoft have one on their web site called EZ
anti
| virus, it's free for 1 year and then one has to pay but it's not very
| expensive. I have friends who have used AVG with bad results so we don't
| want that one, my daughter got 10 viruses with that and didn't know it
until
| she took to a technician, she was doing the updates too. Sorry for the
long
| post but I don't know what to do or advise my friends.
| Many thanks for any advice.
| Cassie.

Avira AntiVir is the *best* of the freebies.

If you want to go with a paid-for AV solution I suggest Kaspersky or
NOD32.
