Yes I have found those articles and went through those solutions about 30
minutes ago. They did not work -I get stuck on the first page of the
configuration setup that comes up automaticallyl. I had removed 3 viruses
using their online program and was thorough in following all steps,
including shutting all non essential startup programs.
I have now given up, and installed Mcaffee version 9 without a hitch. I am
disappointed in Norton, their lack of free phone support -even though I had
great success with it on my daughter's computer - which by the way has much
less software on it. Fortunately I got this version freee after rebates so
as long as I get the money back I am ok. If not, they will hear from me.
I use AVG on a third computer (mine) and am ok with it given I do little
downloading etc of files etc.
I do believe norton is better than AVG - at least in detection - some
viruses got through with AVG - but AVG is much less intrusive and have used
it for 4 years without problems.
