NAV leaves a bunch of junk on your HD. They are all safe to delete if you have no other Norton or Symantec programs such as ACT!, Norton Utilities or System Works, Ghost and so on.
Symantec has a program that does a pretty good job of removing NAV but they suggest that you use it only if the NAV uninstaller fails: RNAV2004.EXE also try SYMCLN.EXE. Additionally go into Control Panel/ Add/Remove Programs and remove Norton/Symantec Live Update and Live Reg.
Look in Program Files/ Common Files/Symantec Shared/ and remove all Symantec related files (if you have no other Norton or Symantec programs). Next look in Program Files/Symantec and remove files there (if you have no other Norton or Symantec programs).
Look in Applications Data folders in the Windows and Documents and Settings folders. Check under different users.
If you know what you are doing editing the registry, do a search and clean out the references to Norton Antivirus.

On the Symantec site, I found info on RNAV2003 but not RNAV2004? Is the 2004 version available.
