Nah......I never told you the long saga of my attempt to upgrade to XP and
the disastrous results. Now THAT sorting out took a lot of thought.

Hasn't got one......she has two older Macs tho.

True......about $35 Cdn as well. I will probably put a new one in.

The BIOS is 5 years older than the computer which I paid big dollars for.
It will not support a second HD or XP. I wanted to simply dual boot, but
that was not possible.

Nope.....you forget how frugal I am. Not about to give this away. However,
I do have a Compaq 2200 sitting here behind me that I might let you have,
grin. Only ever owned 2 computers in 9 years.

Yep....I figured you were doing that. And yes, I admit to a certain amount
of boredom.....time for newer stuff. Totally ticked off that I paid a lot
of dollars for this computer and the *innards* were substandard. Took a lot
of digging to find that out tho. Still haven't phoned MDG to complain, but
OTOH, not about to deal with them again.

Mine was free, so figured I might as well dual boot. But I would have
upgraded eventually. This WinME O/S has served me well for 4.5 years. Not
about to junk it. Will use it as a backup for the new one.
Cheers....the other Senior Citizen, lol.
