paleolithic times

One has to wonder how these customers would respond if the coffee shop
were
to start serving good coffee. I would not be surprised if half the
customers ended up complaining and asking, "what's wrong with the
coffee?"
Good coffee is now an oddity, which gives you an idea of how much
impact the
big 3 or 4 have had on public tastes. It would not be a financial
hardship
for my parents to drink whatever coffee they wanted. What do they
drink?
Some foul preground, foodservice, decaf that comes in a filter pack,
having
been roasted back in paleolithic times. Before I gave up, I'd always
bring
some fresh, homeroasted, decaf whole bean for them to use when I would
come
for a visit; they always told me how much they liked it, but when I
returned
for the next visit I found the foodservice stuff being used. I tried
to
interest them in better stuff, in using a grinder, etc., but they let
me
know it was "too much trouble."
So it is nice to imagine how much better this event might have been
had
decent coffee been served, but the reality might be less than tha
.
