Tell me davey, how is the oxide layer that forms inside the boiler
affected by your theory?

FWIW, here's what a chemical engineer had to say regarding that oxide layer:
"Even if it creates a self protecting layer of aluminum oxide when exposed
to the elements, it DOES corrode and it DOES end it's life in much faster
way than a brass boiler."

You of all people believing someone's undocumented assertion about
their professional qualifications?

*IF* what this person asserts is true, then it must be universally
true that Gaggia aluminum boilers corrode MUCH FASTER, and yet I see
machines built in the 90's with original boilers that are in near-mint
condition. Do you suppose Gaggia has different aluminum formulas that
they alternate as their moods change?
