Here's my brand-new PID kit, installed today. I actually installed it
yesterday and ran into some trouble, but Jim in the States was able to
resolve my issue immediately via the internet.
As you can see if you take the time to cruise to www.coffeesnobs.com.au
via the link below, I've opted for the full-blown installation via a
half-inch hole drilled through the black iron strip down the Silvia's
side. Although the pic shows Jim's suggested setting of 228 F (109 C),
I've since set it at 224 (106.7 C), which seems better here at my
altitude of 1065 meters above sea-level. I've left the PID's settings
at Fahrenheit instead of Celsius because of the slightly more
effective temp control Fahrenheit provides. But give me a week and
I'll probably move back to Celsius!
If anyone with an unpidded Silvia still needs recommendations, I
endorse Jim's mod to the full. Just go to Pidkits.com. End of unpaid
ad ..... and thanks again, Jim.

Cool. I'm at a high altitude also. I have my PID set at 223F. This seems
to be the best setting for me.

Sorry I can't reply to Anthony's post, as it doesn't show up in my
mozzarella.
Can you tell me - anyone - which one of these you bought on this page?

Thanks.
