Looks nice - will probably go for <$500. Ideal home machine!

Ever tried a Bunn ES-1A Dave? You should arrange to visit an owner and try
it before you comment. That 12# E61-type group is amazing - it's so easy to
hit the perfect brew temp you'd almost believe it was a double boiler!

It's a used machine, probably built in the mid-90's. Based on the 40 or so
owned by BUG members, I'd say the new owner can anticipate manually
descaling the boiler, HX, and group. After that there's little to do other
than maybe replace a gasket or o-ring here & there.

Parts are readily available and compared to the cost of repairing prosumer
and consumer machines, they're dirt cheaap (ex: one can have a rotary pump
rebuilt for a lot less than most vibe pumps cost new!). Not a task for
those with more than two thumbs per hand, but certainly a doable project
that'll pay off with great coffee for years.

The best thing about owning a Bunn espresso machine is the wealth of
knowledge available at the Bugg-Is-Bunn user's group (see link in sig,
below). Wouldn't it be great if owners of other machines banded together
for their own benefit like the Bunn & Gaggia owners did?

Drop by anytime for a trial shot from my ES-1A. It'll make a convert out of
you, trust me!

Thank you for the kind offer RH, but I eschew ALL HX machines in favor
dual boiler machines with electronic controls.

such as the La spaz vivaldi II

and especially beat up 90 lb, orphan machines of any make or badge
