Re: We got our Behmor today

UPS delivered our Behmor 1600 today. We are already in love with it. We
already made 2 roasts.

Both roast were a little darker than we prefer. The Behmor runs so quiet
that it is no problem hearing the first and second cracks. Our last roaster
was very nosey so we never heard them. The Behmor manual says we are
supposed to anticipate the roast hitting 2ed crack. Both of our roasts went
into second crack, we cut off the roast the second we heard it but it
"coasted" a little darker than we like.

Does anyone have any tips on how to anticipate the second crack? I think we
would like the roast to stop just before second crack starts.

Add something significant to the weight, presuming you're underweight
and can afford to roast acceptably heavier within the same
parameters.

Plus/Minus, Add/Subt ancillary timer buttons. They deplete power when
time is added, variously, to either one (P1) or three stages (P2-P5),
within permissible time limits alloted selections (A-D). Conversely,
I see no mention of time, in turn subtracted from profile roast
stages, to effect an *increased* application of heat in profile stage
powers.

Presuming defeating Behmor's features isn't an obstacle, nor chaff
flying around most annoyingly inside the home, hair, nostrils, &etc.,
in which case, save some wear on the afterburner by opening the door
90 seconds after cooling cycle, or optionally place a fan in front of
the unit

Last, according commonsensical operations guidelines, p.7-V3.6, start
going back 10-15 seconds ahead of whatever you did before, for however
many times it takes, until enlightenment is approximate to roaster
nirvana (optional weight measures may still be an applicable variable
to apply):

1) Always forward think your roast by 10-15 seconds. This is the
amount of time that is required to start reversing the trend from
roasting to cooling.

3) ...times shown are approximately what it takes from start of the
first crack/snap of 1st crack to the start of 2nd crack for regular
coffee (decaf gets darker quicker). This guideline is especially
important to know when using Profile 2/ P2. We have found over the
course of many tests using P2 it will give you only a few 1st cracks
then go silent, moving gently into 2nd crack in the times shown below.
We suggest adjusting times as close to the following once you hear the
first cracking sound of 1st crack.
